Ravi K has been appointed as the 22nd Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), succeeding D K Sunil. With over 30 years of industry experience, Ravi aims to make HAL a global aerospace leader by focusing on innovation, AI, and operational excellence.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the government-run aerospace giant, appointed Ravi K as its new Chairman and Managing Director on Friday. Ravi steps into the role following the tenure of D K Sunil, who retired on April 30. Bringing over three decades of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, and electronics, Ravi previously served as Director (Operations) at HAL.
Ravi outlined his vision to transform HAL into a globally competitive entity in aerospace and defense, driven by innovation, artificial intelligence, and operational excellence. His record includes leading key roles such as Executive Director of the LCA Tejas Division, where he negotiated large contracts with the Indian Armed Forces.
Ravi's initiatives have been pivotal in strengthening local capabilities within the LCA Tejas program and creating new revenue opportunities by diversifying HAL into civil manufacturing and MRO. His plans also involve enhancing production capabilities and furthering partnerships with private sector companies to bolster HAL's market presence.
