Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, is spearheading the development of the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag Rail Link project in Uttarakhand, emphasizing the green building concept.
As part of this ambitious project, the RVNL plans to build all station infrastructures, spanning 125 km and connecting key towns like Devprayag and Srinagar in ecologically sensitive regions, under environmentally responsible guidelines. Significant features include energy-efficient systems, utilizing solar power, and scientific waste management practices to maintain environmental integrity.
This initiative aligns with Indian Railways' broader vision of environmentally sustainable infrastructure.
