Digital Bharat Nidhi has officially partnered with the Andhra Pradesh government to initiate the BharatNet programme's amended version. The central government is providing a hefty financial backing of Rs 2,432 crore to bolster this project that seeks to improve rural internet accessibility.
The agreement, involving Digital Bharat Nidhi, the Andhra Pradesh government, Andhra Pradesh BharatNet Infrastructure Limited (APBIL), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), and Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited (APSFL), underscores a concerted effort to boost broadband connectivity in rural areas.
With the Union Cabinet's recent approval, the programme will deliver more than five lakh fibre connections across villages and gram panchayats, striving for robust and future-ready broadband infrastructure in the region.
