The Taiwanese semiconductor giant, TSMC, has announced a notable spike in its revenue for April 2025, propelled by the heightened demand for sophisticated semiconductors. The company achieved net revenue of NTD 349.57 billion, illustrating a significant 22.2% rise from the previous month and a 48.1% increase compared to April 2024.

In the first four months of 2025, TSMC's cumulative revenue reached NTD 1,188.82 billion, marking a 43.5% growth from the same period last year. As the world's leading semiconductor foundry, TSMC commands approximately a 67.1% market share, contributing to a decline in Samsung's presence, which fell to just over 8%.

As semiconductor demand is anticipated to grow in double digits, largely fueled by gen AI chips, the Indian government is actively supporting semiconductor initiatives through the Rs 76,000 crore Semicon India programme, sanctioning several projects to bolster the manufacturing landscape.
