The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has taken a significant step towards enhancing digital infrastructure by releasing a draft manual aimed at standardizing property ratings for digital connectivity. The move is expected to streamline the assessment methodology for Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAS), promoting uniformity and transparency in the evaluation process.
This manual will serve as a comprehensive reference for Property Managers, facilitating the efficient creation and integration of Digital Connectivity Infrastructure (DCI) within their developments. TRAI's initiative underscores the importance of digital connectivity, which has become integral to daily life, revolutionizing sectors such as the economy, innovation, and governance.
TRAI's recommendations, submitted on February 20, 2023, have already paved the way for assessing buildings' digital capabilities, particularly crucial for 4G and 5G networks that face challenges penetrating building materials. The regulator's regulations released on October 25, 2024, introduce a collaborative framework for property rating, ensuring that high-rated properties attract more users and investors.
