Mixed Trends in India's Vehicle Wholesales for May
In May, India's domestic passenger vehicle wholesales dropped by 0.8%, while two-wheeler dispatches rose by 2.2%. Three-wheeler sales declined by 3.3%. Overall, vehicle wholesales across categories increased by 1.8%, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.

In a month of fluctuating numbers, India's vehicle industry witnessed a mix of gains and losses in May. Domestic passenger vehicle wholesales saw a marginal decline of 0.8%, with figures standing at 3,44,656 units compared to last year's 3,47,492 units, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
The two-wheeler segment, however, displayed growth, seeing a 2.2% increase in dispatches from manufacturers to dealers. This category reported 16,55,927 units this May, up from 16,20,084 units in the same period last year.
Despite the mixed results in passenger and two-wheeler segments, the total vehicle wholesales across all categories rose by 1.8%, reaching 20,12,969 units, contrasting with the previous year's 19,76,674 units, SIAM revealed.
