India's Economic Leap: Cyprus Partnership Fuels Global Ambitions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced India's ambitious economic trajectory during his visit to Cyprus. Speaking at a business roundtable with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, Modi highlighted India's push towards becoming the world's third-largest economy, citing rapid growth and innovative developments as key drivers.

Addressing the gathered business leaders, Modi emphasized the significance of Cyprus as an economic partner for India. He outlined various avenues for collaboration, particularly in the civil aviation, digital payments, and green development sectors, inviting Cypriot companies to seize the emerging opportunities.

The visit marked the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Cyprus in 23 years, underscoring the importance of strengthening bilateral ties. Modi and President Christodoulides explored ways to expand economic cooperation, including the introduction of UPI for cross-border payments and launching the India-Greece-Cyprus Business and Investment Council.
