In an unexpected turn of events, Air India's San Francisco-Mumbai flight was terminated at Kolkata due to a technical snag in one of the engines, leading to chaos at the airport.

The Boeing 777-200 LR, with 211 passengers on board, was scheduled to make a stopover in Kolkata as part of a reroute necessitated by geopolitical tensions, including the closure of Pakistani airspace.

While some passengers were rerouted on other flights, special arrangements are being made for 150 travellers, who are expected to fly to Mumbai later today.
