UFlex Ltd, a prominent player in flexible packaging, has launched an FSSAI-compliant single-pellet solution that integrates recycled PET with virgin PET for use in food and beverage packaging. This innovation eliminates the need for manufacturers to separately purchase and mix materials, thus streamlining the packaging process.
Joint President of the Packaging Films Business at UFlex Ltd, Ashish Saxena, emphasized that this new product will be instrumental for brands striving to meet Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance under the updated FSSAI guidelines. Saxena stated that the company aims to set a benchmark for responsible and scalable packaging solutions.
The recent Rs 317 crore investment in two new recycling plants in Noida further strengthens UFlex's commitment to India's vision for improved plastic waste management. From April 1, 2025, brands must ensure at least 30% recycled content in rigid plastic packaging, in compliance with the new regulations.
