Gorakhpur Link Expressway: A New Era for Uttar Pradesh's Infrastructure
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, a significant infrastructure project costing Rs 7,283 crore. This expressway enhances Uttar Pradesh's share in India's expressway network to 42%, boosting socio-economic development across Purvanchal and facilitating connectivity to various districts.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath officially opened the Rs 7,283 crore Gorakhpur Link Expressway, marking the operational launch of the state's seventh expressway. This 91.352-km route connects Gorakhpur with several districts, including Azamgarh, enhancing the state's expressway presence to 42% of India's network.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh disclosed plans for further expansion, with the addition of the Ganga Expressway set to raise the state's share to over 62%. Singh emphasized the transformative impact on Purvanchal's socio-economic landscape, overcoming geographical barriers.
The project's total investment covered land acquisition costs, benefiting from contributions by 22,000 farmers. Currently, Uttar Pradesh leads in expressway construction, with future projects like the Chitrakoot Link Expressway further redefined connections across the state.
