Meta announced on Friday its collaboration with Oakley to launch AI-enhanced smart glasses, marking an expansion in the wearable tech sector following the success of Ray-Ban Meta eyewear.
The new Oakley Meta HSTN will feature advanced technology like a high-resolution camera, open-ear speakers, water resistance, and Meta AI integration, with prices starting at $499 for preorders on July 11. Additionally, lower-priced options will follow later in the summer.
Launching first in North America, Australia, and Europe, the product range will extend to regions such as Mexico, India, and the UAE by the end of the year, debuting at several significant events, like Fanatics Fest and UFC Fight Week. Meanwhile, competitor Snap has announced plans to introduce its Specs smart glasses next year.
