In a bold statement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the BJP-led Mahayuti government's efforts in transforming Mumbai with investments exceeding Rs 7 lakh crore in infrastructure. Speaking at the inauguration of the Maharashtra Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, Shah pinpointed significant projects like the 337-km Metro network and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train as game-changers.

Shah criticized the previous UPA government for neglecting the city, attributing the current progress to the double-engine governance model of Narendra Modi at the Centre and the Fadnavis-Shinde alliance in the state. He emphasized the end of rampant farmer suicides, citing increased irrigation investments as a vital factor.

The minister urged industry bodies like MACCIA to play a proactive role in policy advocacy, suggesting collaboration with professional entities to stay relevant amid global challenges. Shah called for introspection to integrate young talent, thereby ensuring resilience and innovation in the face of domestic and international events impacting the economy.
