A fire near railway tracks in Amsterdam, suspected to be a criminal act, has disrupted train traffic in the Netherlands as a NATO summit commences. Damage was caused to electricity cables, leading to cancelled services between key locations including Schiphol Airport and Utrecht. Police investigations are ongoing.

A suspected criminal act has led to a significant disruption in train services in the Netherlands, coinciding with the commencement of a NATO summit in The Hague. A fire erupted early Tuesday near railway tracks in Amsterdam, damaging critical electricity cables, according to railway operator Prorail.
The disruption has affected services between Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport, as well as connections between the airport and the central city of Utrecht, which will remain cancelled until further notice. The incident has raised concerns about security, given the timing of the summit.
Law enforcement is actively investigating the fire, considering the possibility of criminal involvement. 'We are looking for possible witnesses,' a police spokesperson told Reuters. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that might assist in their inquiry.
