The Crime Branch in Bhopal has initiated legal action following allegations of fraudulent activity involving scholarship funds. An FIR has been registered after the Additional Director of the Madhya Pradesh Ministry of Backward Classes and Minority Welfare claimed that more than Rs 57 lakh was illicitly withdrawn by certain madrasas and institutions.

The investigation, as explained by Additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan, revealed that multiple madrasas falsely claimed scholarships for students in classes 11 and 12. Some 40 institutions, purportedly enrolling 972 students, are implicated in this scandal.

Authorities are expanding their probe to include nodal officers responsible for processing and forwarding scholarship applications. These officials will be questioned to ascertain whether any scholarship distribution involved deceitful practices. The investigation seeks to verify the authenticity of the scholarship offers and requires relevant documentation from involved parties.
