An ambitious initiative to promote innovation and support Indian start-ups has been unveiled, according to a recent announcement. The UAE-India CEPA Start-up Series, launched by the UAE-India CEPA Council in conjunction with the UAE Embassy in India, seeks to foster a dynamic environment for entrepreneurial growth and collaboration.
Underpinning this effort is the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), a full agreement enacted in 2022 following its signing at a summit between India's Prime Minister Modi and UAE's President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Since then, the economic partnership between the two nations has flourished, with bilateral trade reaching USD 83.64 billion in FY 2023-24.
The launch event showcased strategic collaborations through multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with significant institutions. This series promises to offer exceptional opportunities, including a high-profile pitch event in New Delhi, where selected start-ups will receive substantial support and exposure in the UAE, thereby enhancing the bilateral innovation landscape.
