Ericsson has taken a significant step in its strategic expansion by releasing its first India-made antenna model designed for export. Announced on Monday, this new antenna is ready for commercial release, with international shipments scheduled to commence in July. The move is part of Ericsson's broader plan to fortify its manufacturing and engineering capabilities within India.

The unveiling event, graced by Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M Scindia, highlighted Ericsson's commitment to building a robust passive antenna manufacturing and engineering ecosystem in India. This initiative includes end-to-end capabilities, focusing on local sourcing, production, and engineering, tailored to meet both global and domestic network demands.

Mikael Eriksson, Head of Ericsson Antenna System, emphasized the company's dedication to establishing a comprehensive antenna ecosystem in India. By producing more than half of the antenna content locally, Ericsson aims to advance its engineering capabilities within the country, facilitating regional adaptation and fostering innovation. This strategic approach is intended not only to strengthen India's telecom infrastructure but also to position India as a global hub for high-tech manufacturing and innovation.
