Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma confirmed on Monday that the central government has approved a Rajdhani express train service connecting the northeastern state with Delhi. This significant development promises enhanced connectivity for residents.
Lalduhoma revealed this following discussions with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, seeking train services between Aizawl and major cities including Delhi, Agartala, and Kolkata. The new service is a win for the region, enhancing both local and external mobility.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the strategic role of Mizoram as a burgeoning commercial hub, tied to the completion of the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project. This project further cements Mizoram's role as a crucial trade gateway to ASEAN countries.
