A worker identified as Akhil Kumar succumbed to fatal steam injuries following an explosion within a furnace at a private steel factory in Jharkhand's Bokaro district. The tragic incident unfolded on Sunday at Shivpuria Ispat Udyog under the Bokaro Industrial Area Development Authority, as stated by local police.

Two individuals were reported injured due to the unfortunate mishap. While Akhil Kumar did not survive, Lakhan Tudu continues to receive medical treatment at Bokaro General Hospital. The explosion occurred during their working hours on Sunday morning, leading to a hazardous steam gas leak, as detailed by Navin Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Balidih police station.

Sub-divisional Officer Pranjal Danda has initiated an investigation into the matter. Concurrently, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha has reprimanded Factory Inspector Gopal Kumar for overlooking this incident, resulting in withholding his salary. Compensation amounting to Rs 15 lakh has been sanctioned to Akhil Kumar's family under the Workers Compensation Act, 1923.
