The Jharkhand government has extended a financial lifeline, amounting to Rs 2.66 crore, to support the family of Constable Sunil Dhan, a valiant officer who lost his life in the line of duty. Dhan was a casualty of an IED blast while on an anti-Maoist mission.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren personally handed over a cheque for Rs 1.20 crore to the bereaved family, with an additional Rs 1.46 crore deposited into their bank account by the state's Home Department. In a show of respect and solidarity, Soren lauded Dhan's ultimate sacrifice, pledging continued support to the families of those who serve the state.

Dhan was wounded in a treacherous blast in West Singhbhum district's dense forests during a search operation on April 12. He was evacuated to Ranchi but sadly succumbed to his injuries. The Chief Minister assured that all due benefits, including a pension, would be expedited to his family.
