In a recent escalation of tensions, the United States has intensified its involvement in the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict by launching strikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran. Defence expert Praful Bakshi stressed on Sunday the importance of India's potential role in deescalating the situation. He pointed out how Prime Minister Narendra Modi could leverage India's amicable relationships with both Iran and Israel to broker peace discussions.
According to Bakshi, the strikes on Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan have demonstrated to Tehran the seriousness of Washington's intentions. He likened the US's actions to a predator's pursuit of prey, sparing no effort in their objective. Bakshi predicted that President Donald Trump might persist with similar aggressive maneuvers, illustrating America's resolute stance.
The strikes serve not only as a message to Iran but also as a caution to China and Russia, both of whom have expressed support for Tehran. On the back of these actions, President Trump issued a warning to Iran, noting that without a satisfactory peace agreement, the potential consequences for Iran could be severe, surpassing recent turmoil. Trump also praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasizing the close cooperation between the two nations in addressing the threat posed by Iran.
