In a startling turn of events, residents along Patna's Boring Road were forced to evacuate their homes on Sunday after the basements collapsed, sparking widespread panic. The event unfolded without any reported injuries, according to officials on the ground.
The state Disaster Management Department disclosed that the cave-in occurred around 2:30 am, with suspicions falling on an adjacent plot where unauthorized digging work was allegedly underway. Emergency response teams, including the National and State Disaster Response Forces, swiftly moved to evacuate the affected area.
Patna District Magistrate Thyagarajan S M expressed concerns over the lack of approval for the excavation work and informed that a committee has been set up to delve into the incident. Authorities assured that those found responsible will face stringent action once the investigation concludes.
