SpiceJet announced on Thursday the arrival of the first pair of overhauled engines from global MRO provider StandardAero, marking a significant step in the airline's fleet revival efforts. These engines include a CFM LEAP-1B engine, which powers the Boeing 737 MAX, revamped at StandardAero's Houston facility, along with a Q400 engine from its Singapore site.

The airline confirmed in a statement today that another Boeing 737 NG has successfully returned to service, as part of their goal to methodically restore fleet capacity. This is integral to SpiceJet's extensive fleet revival strategy, which involves sending a total of 17 engines for overhaul.

With the arrival of these first two engines, SpiceJet is poised for a continuous stream of engine overhauls in the upcoming months. The company dispatched six CFM LEAP-1B engines to Houston, while seven Q400 engines were sent to Singapore.

Furthermore, four engines are now with Carlyle Aviation to aid the restoration of additional Boeing 737 NGs. An IATA-IOSA certified airline, SpiceJet operates a mix of Boeing 737s and Q-400s, playing a key role in India's regional aviation market through the UDAN scheme. The airline is noted for offering SpiceMax, among the most spacious economy seating options in India. (ANI)
