In a significant development push for Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the city, inaugurating or laying the foundation for projects totalling Rs 2,200 crore. The visit, announced by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, emphasizes transformative efforts in various sectors.

During his stay, Modi will oversee the release of the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, ensuring direct financial aid to farmers. Major projects include the four-lane expansion of the Varanasi-Bhadohi road and the enhancement of medical facilities with advanced equipment like robotic surgery units in cancer hospitals.

Additionally, the foundation stones for new educational and cultural infrastructures, such as a government homoeopathic medical college, a district library, and a museum at Munshi Premchand's house, will be laid, alongside an extensive underground cabling project valued at Rs 881 crore.
