Paws and Passengers: Therapy Dogs Transform Travel at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has introduced an innovative Therapy Dog Program, engaging travelers with calming interactions from trained Toy Poodles. Managed by the GMR Group, the initiative hopes to ease travel-related stress and welcome passengers warmly.

Passengers have responded positively, appreciating the soothing presence of these therapy dogs. The program features four Toy Poodles, each accompanied by professional handlers to ensure safe and enjoyable interaction. Future program expansions are possible, pending feedback and feasibility studies.

Dogs engage with passengers voluntarily, ensuring stress-free and meaningful interactions. Available from Friday to Monday, the dogs greet travelers in both domestic and international departure areas, enhancing the airport's environment for up to four hours daily.
