Maharashtra Transport Minister Advocates for Safer Metro Stops

Maharashtra's transport minister, Pratap Sarnaik, has called for the establishment of dedicated passenger stops underneath metro stations along Thane's Kapurbawdi to Ghodbunder route.

During an inspection with Thane Municipal Corporation, MMRDA, and Transport Department officials, Sarnaik highlighted passenger safety concerns at current metro station staircases, located between the main and service roads.

He proposed restricting service-road sections for public transport only, enhancing safety and reducing traffic jams. Additionally, he advocated for the concretization of Ghodbunder Road to improve durability and cut maintenance costs.
