Hindustan Zinc Ltd has announced a significant expansion in its green logistics strategy, partnering with GreenLine Mobility to deploy 100 new electric vehicles (EVs) and double its LNG truck fleet to 200. This move aims at achieving total decarbonization of its supply chain.
The collaboration will see GreenLine investing Rs 400 crore to support this large-scale transition. Plans include establishing three high-capacity battery swapping stations for continuous 24/7 operations and replacing diesel vehicles for inter-unit concentrate movement with EVs. The new initiatives aim for significant reductions in carbon emissions.
Hindustan Zinc is aligning its logistics overhaul with broader sustainability goals, including India's green growth ambitions. CEO Arun Misra and GreenLine CEO Anand Mimani emphasize that clean transport is both a business imperative and an environmental responsibility.
