In a landmark move that further cements India’s reputation as a global innovation powerhouse, SAP Labs India has inaugurated its next-generation Innovation Park at Devanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Spanning over 41 acres, this world-class facility represents a strategic leap in SAP’s commitment to India’s digital transformation, talent development, and sustainable infrastructure. The inauguration was graced by top dignitaries, including Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Karnataka Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah, IT Minister Shri Priyank Kharge, German Ambassador Dr. Philipp Ackermann, and SAP Labs Network Head Clas Neumann.


Vision for a Digital, Skilled, and Sustainable India

Delivering the keynote address, Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw hailed the Innovation Park as a timely investment aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat at 2047” vision. He emphasized that the new SAP campus not only reflects the world’s faith in India’s talent and technological prowess but also positions India as a trusted global partner in digital and AI-led innovation.

The Minister highlighted India’s economic and technological strides, noting:

  • India’s rapid ascent from the 11th to the soon-to-be third largest global economy.

  • An eightfold increase in electronics exports over the past 11 years.

  • Pioneering achievements in high-speed rail (Bullet Train and Vande Bharat Express).

  • The democratization of advanced computing power through the empanelment of 34,000+ GPUs, accessible to students, researchers, and startups nationwide—a unique public-private initiative.


SAP Labs India Innovation Park: A Future-Ready Digital Campus

The newly inaugurated Innovation Park is set to become SAP’s most advanced and sustainable global facility. Its strategic location near Kempegowda International Airport makes it ideal for global connectivity and collaboration.

  • Workforce & Capacity: Will accommodate 15,000 professionals, making it SAP’s largest Indian campus.

  • AI Leadership: Hub for global roles in Product Engineering, Customer Services, and the development of Joule’s agentic AI capabilities.

    • Startup incubation spaces

    • Hackathon zones

    • Customer Experience Center

Academia-Industry Integration: MoU with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV)

A major highlight of the inauguration was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SAP and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV). This collaboration is set to advance the Skill India Mission and transform India’s logistics sector by:

  1. Employment Enablement: Equipping GSV-trained graduates and postgraduates with industry-relevant digital skills to boost employability.

  2. Curriculum Enhancement: Jointly developing learning modules and capacity-building programs tailored to real-world needs for students and government professionals.

  3. Industry Linkages: Fostering R&D, knowledge transfer, and practical exposure to strengthen India’s logistics and supply chain workforce.

The partnership aims to integrate SAP’s digital tools and solutions directly into the GSV curriculum, creating a digitally skilled workforce ready for the challenges of tomorrow’s logistics ecosystem.
