In a surprising incident near Shivamogga railway station, six coaches of the Talaguppa-Mysuru Intercity Express uncoupled, halting unexpectedly on the Tunga river bridge on Wednesday evening.

According to railway authorities, the train, originally consisting of 16 coaches, had already departed Talaguppa and was on its way to Mysuru when the technical malfunction occurred, causing the detachment of six coaches a short distance from Shivamogga station.

Panic ensued among passengers as the rear coaches came to rest on the bridge while the forward part of the train continued. Fortunately, no injuries or damage were reported, and railway staff swiftly re-coupled the coaches, allowing the train to resume its journey.
