Chhattisgarh Bolsters Rural Roads with Rs 195 Crore Boost

The Centre has sanctioned a substantial amount of Rs 195 crore to the state of Chhattisgarh to enhance infrastructure in regions affected by left-wing extremism. This funding is part of the 'Road Connectivity Project for Left Wing Extremism Affected Areas' (RCPLWEA), aiming to bolster connectivity in these remote regions.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan for their approval. He emphasized that the funds will support the construction of rural roads, bridges, and other connectivity structures in several districts including Dantewada, Bijapur, and Bastar.
The state government assures a transparent and swift utilization of the funds, with Rs 190.6125 crore allocated for programs and Rs 4.3875 crore for administrative purposes. This initiative is expected to link isolated villages with essential services, enhancing governance and socio-economic mobility in the region.
