Lawyers representing former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro have filed an appeal against a house arrest order imposed earlier this week. Documents sent to the Supreme Court, viewed by Reuters, highlight the legal team's contention against the ruling by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes.

The arrest order was motivated by alleged non-compliance with restraining orders involving supposed attempts to seek intervention from U.S. President Donald Trump. Bolsonaro's legal team had already announced their intention to appeal the decision, claiming compliance with all legal restraints.

In their Wednesday filing, the lawyers maintained that Bolsonaro did not breach any restraining orders and requested that the matter be reviewed by a larger panel of Supreme Court judges.
