Mother Dairy has introduced a significant price reduction across its array of dairy and processed food products, citing the transfer of Goods and Services Tax (GST) benefits directly to consumers, effective September 22. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), the company declared that its entire product range now falls within the nil or lowest 5 percent GST bracket.

As of September 22, consumers can enjoy reduced prices on several products: Ultra High Temperature (UHT) milk (1 liter) is now priced at Rs 75, down from Rs 77; milkshakes (180 ml) are reduced from Rs 30 to Rs 28; paneer (200 gm) from Rs 95 to Rs 92; butter (100 gm) from Rs 62 to Rs 58, and cow ghee jar (1 liter) from Rs 750 to Rs 720. Notable price reductions also extend to ice creams, where the Choco Vanilla Cone (100 ml) dropped from Rs 30 to Rs 25 and the Strawberry Crush Tub (1 liter) from Rs 330 to Rs 300.

Regarding Safal products, a uniform GST reduction, from 12 percent to 5 percent, applies across categories including frozen snacks, jams, and pickles. Consequently, Frozen French fries (400 gm) are down to Rs 95 from Rs 100, Frozen aloo tikki (400 gm) to Rs 85 from Rs 90, and frozen nuggets (300 gm) to Rs 105 from Rs 110, among others. Manish Bandlish, Managing Director of Mother Dairy, expressed optimism that the reduced pricing will promote increased consumption and encourage widespread acceptance of high-quality packaged foods, benefiting both consumers and farmers. Important to note, Pouch Milk products remain GST-exempt, maintaining their current market price. (ANI)
