Hong Kong's Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector is experiencing a significant rebound, registering 1.42 million overnight visitors in 2024. This marks a 10% rise from 2023, pushing towards pre-pandemic levels. The Indian market has been a major contributor, with visitor arrivals from India surging over 70% in 2024 compared to the previous year.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has capitalized on this momentum, organizing impactful familiarization tours to position Hong Kong as the premier MICE destination for Indian corporates. Attractions showcased include state-of-the-art infrastructure, diverse incentive experiences, and popular attractions such as The Peak, Hong Kong Disneyland, and the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
These initiatives have solidified Hong Kong's appeal as a hub for business events, and its commitment to nurturing the Indian market is evident through immersive experiences planned for top Indian travel intermediaries. With the MICE segment from India showing robust growth, HKTB aims to further diversify offerings, ensuring Hong Kong remains a leading MICE destination in Asia.
