In a consumer-friendly move, Heritage Foods has announced that it will reduce prices across its dairy product range following the government's decision to cut Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates on these products.

The company's statement noted that it would fully pass on the benefits of the GST rate rationalization to consumers before the festive season, with the changes taking effect on September 22.

Significant price reductions include a Rs 3 per litre cut in the maximum retail price of UHT milk, Rs 50 per litre off ghee, Rs 50 per kg off butter and cheese, and Rs 25 per kg off paneer. Ice cream prices were also reduced, offering savings of Rs 35 on 950ml packs and Rs 20 on 700ml packs.
