Maruti Suzuki India announced on Wednesday a significant price reduction across its entire car range, with reductions reaching up to Rs 1,29,600. This move follows the recent GST rate cut aiming to make vehicles more affordable for consumers, particularly targeting two-wheeler owners for an upgrade to cars.
The car manufacturer's initiative will see price cuts on popular models such as the S Presso, Alto K10, and Swift. These reductions are in addition to the 8.5 percent GST benefit, which Maruti Suzuki aims to fully pass on to customers.
In a press meeting, Senior Executive Officer Partho Banerjee highlighted their strategic pricing to further stimulate the Indian passenger vehicle market. Maruti Suzuki anticipates a rebound in the passenger vehicle segment, targeting a growth rate of 6 to 7 percent in the next fiscal year.
