The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has passed a resolution lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his groundbreaking reforms in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) framework. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, during the assembly session, emphasized the wide-reaching benefits of the GST rate rationalization, characterizing it as a 'game changer' for India's economy.
According to CM Naidu, the GST reforms will allow festive celebrations with reduced prices on essential goods, benefiting 140 crore people. Highlighting PM Modi's unique leadership, he emphasized the increase in GST taxpayers and the substantial growth in indirect tax revenue since the reform's introduction.
The assembly also addressed energy needs, with Energy Minister G Ravi Kumar focusing on increasing solar power installations under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. However, the absence of opposition YSRCP MLAs during discussions was noted by Naidu as unfortunate for societal cooperation.
