Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate a new manufacturing facility for Tata Advanced Systems in Morocco, dedicated to producing wheeled armoured personnel carriers. This move underscores India's growing global influence in the defence sector as part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The facility, located in Berrechid, holds the distinction of being the first Indian defence manufacturing plant on African soil. It marks a monumental step for India's defence industry, expanding its reach under the self-reliant India program.
During his visit, which marks the first by an Indian defence minister to Morocco, Singh will also engage in bilateral talks with his Moroccan counterpart, Abdeltif Loudiyi. The discussions aim to strengthen defence ties between the two nations.
