Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh visited Sairang railway station, inspecting its facilities and engaging in discussions with senior railway officials, according to a Raj Bhavan statement on Thursday.
During his visit, Singh lauded the historic milestone of connecting Aizawl, Mizoram's capital, to the Indian Railway network for the first time, emphasizing its significance in enabling seamless and efficient train connectivity across India.
Singh urged the Northeast Frontier Railway to maintain and enhance railway infrastructure, aiming to set benchmarks in infrastructure quality and passenger experience. The Bairabi-Sairang line project, inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi, is hailed as an engineering marvel featuring numerous tunnels and India's tallest pier railway bridge.
