In an ambitious move, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel outlined a strategic industrial roadmap aimed at realizing a trillion-dollar economy, targeting a 10% share of India's GDP. Speaking at FICCI's National Executive Committee Meeting, Patel emphasized Gujarat's pivotal role in the global semiconductor supply chain, underscored by newly inaugurated fabrication plants.
Highlighting the state's technological advancements, Patel noted GIFT City's burgeoning AI Centre of Excellence and fintech infrastructure. He also underscored Gujarat's commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050 and praised inclusive, women-led growth. The Chief Minister stressed the state's role in propelling India's ambition of becoming a developed economy by 2047.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi predicted unprecedented data centre growth, surpassing the rest of India in a few years. He spotlighted sunrise sectors such as semiconductors and sophisticated manufacturing as crucial to Gujarat's expansion. Meanwhile, new entertainment venues and enhanced industrial zones underscore the state's infrastructure prowess and economic dynamism.
