Tragic Turn: Food Delivery Agent's Journey Ends in Fatal Accident

In the early hours of Thursday, a tragic accident claimed the life of a food delivery agent in Mumbai. The incident involved a collision between an autorickshaw and a truck on the Western Express Highway, turning the scene into a hit-and-run, according to police sources.
The victim, identified as Akhilesh Chowdhary Kamat, was on his way to complete a delivery for Zomato when the accident occurred. Knocked down by a speeding autorickshaw and subsequently run over by a truck, Kamat was rushed to VN Desai Hospital by locals, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries before being admitted.
The drivers of both the autorickshaw and the truck fled the scene, prompting police to launch an investigation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to identify the vehicles involved. The deceased had been residing with his cousin in Mumbai Central. An FIR has been registered to bring the responsible parties to justice.
