Global travel-tech firm FlixBus aims to make India its largest market by passenger volume by 2030. Travel-tech giant FlixBus is setting its sights on India as its largest market by 2030, a company official confirmed to PTI. Entering the Indian market in February 2024, FlixBus presently offers intercity bus services and plans major expansions, particularly on the Delhi-Dehradun corridor.
Max Zeumer, the firm's Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted India as a strategic growth market, poised to become the biggest for FlixBus by passenger volume. Despite high global figures, such as serving 99 million passengers in 2025, India's burgeoning demand, especially in the air-conditioned intercity segment, underscores its potential.
The Munich-based company, leveraging an asset-light model through partnerships with over 60 local SME fleet operators, has swiftly expanded to span over 300 cities and 1,800 bus stops, linking key areas in North, West, and South India. FlixBus is set to boost capacity on high-demand routes and enhance connectivity across major urban centers.
