E-commerce behemoth Amazon has announced the significant expansion of its quick commerce service, Amazon Now, across 100 cities in India. Despite not providing a precise timeline for this rollout completion, the company is aiming for a large-scale operation.
Currently active in major metropolitan areas like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, Amazon Now will benefit from more than 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers as part of this aggressive growth. This initiative is integral to Amazon India's recent Rs 2,800 crore investment strategy.
According to Harsh Goyal, Vice President of Everyday Essentials at Amazon India, the expansion will also help around 16,000 farmers by allowing them to directly reach customers with their fresh produce. Cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata are among those set to benefit from this expansion.
