Ganga Expressway: Toll-Free Drive for Public Access
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a 15-day toll-free period for the Ganga Expressway, allowing the public to experience this significant infrastructure without charges. The initiative aims to promote usage, boost tourism, and strengthen public confidence in the expressway while ensuring economic connectivity.
The Uttar Pradesh government has declared that the Ganga Expressway will be toll-free for the first 15 days from its commercial launch. This initiative aims to provide the public an opportunity to experience the extensive infrastructure at no cost, as per an official announcement.
Following this decision, UPEIDA has instructed IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd and Adani Infrastructure to halt toll collection temporarily. The move encourages widespread public use during the initial phase, allowing individuals to evaluate the expressway's performance and amenities.
The expressway stretches from Meerut to Prayagraj, encompassing 12 districts, and is anticipated to be a catalyst for regional economic growth. Despite the toll-free period, operational and maintenance standards will remain intact, ensuring road safety and traffic management.
