Niti Aayog's Strategic Push: Revamping Infrastructure Frameworks
Niti Aayog is collaborating with various ministries to revise infrastructure frameworks, including multi-modal logistics parks and railway stations. The initiative aims to enhance project viability and bankability, with a focus also on integrated sports stadiums through public-private partnerships. These efforts seek to align with international best practices.
Niti Aayog, the Indian government's primary policy think tank, is advancing extensive collaborations with multiple ministries. The initiative targets revising the model concession agreement for multi-modal logistics parks, aiming to fortify the framework for their effective implementation.
The Aayog's 2025-26 Annual Report highlights its efforts with the Railways Ministry for railway station redevelopment, focusing on improving project viability and revenue potential. Moreover, proposals for enhancing these infrastructures in Vijayawada have progressed to the bidding stage.
Earmarked by a push for sports infrastructure, Niti Aayog also coordinated with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The goal is to develop integrated sports stadiums under a PPP framework, aligning with international standards. Established in 2015, the Aayog continues to lead strategic policy development.
