Price Surge: Mother Dairy Adjusts Milk Rates Amid Rising Costs
Mother Dairy has raised milk prices by Rs 2 per litre due to increasing input costs, effective May 14, 2026. This adjustment is aimed at balancing farmer welfare and consumer interests, as procurement costs rose by 6% over the year. The company passes 75-80% of its revenue to farmers.
Mother Dairy, a key player in the dairy industry, has announced a Rs 2 per litre hike in milk prices starting from Thursday. The decision is part of an effort to address increasing input costs that have soared in recent months.
According to an official statement, the adjustment will take effect on May 14, 2026, and reflects a necessary partial pass-through of elevated procurement costs. Farmers have seen a 6% increase in prices over the past year, despite Mother Dairy's ongoing initiatives to shield consumers from substantial price escalation.
With this revision, the company aims to maintain equitable gains for both farmers and its customer base. Nearly 75-80% of Mother Dairy's milk sales revenue is directed to farmers. In the Delhi-NCR market, the prices for various milk variants will see adjustments, including full cream milk rising to Rs 72 per litre.
