Bharti Airtel's Financial Journey: Surpassing Revenue Milestones Amid Challenges
Bharti Airtel's net profit declined by 33.5% mainly due to one-time statutory and tax provisions. However, the company crossed the Rs 2 lakh crore revenue mark with customer growth of 3.2% to 66.5 crore. The India business showed solid performance, with mobile services contributing to an 8% revenue growth.
In a recent financial report, Bharti Airtel revealed a 33.5% decline in consolidated net profit for the March 2026 ending quarter, primarily due to one-time financial provisions related to statutory and tax liabilities. Despite this, the telecom giant's annual revenue surpassed the Rs 2 lakh crore milestone for the first time, driven by a 3.2% growth in its customer base to 66.5 crore.
The company navigated through previous unpredicted gains, posting a year-on-year profit after tax comparison with last year's Rs 12,476 crore achievement. During the latest reported period, Airtel encountered unforeseen regulatory and governmental levies that led to the recognition of a significant charge.
Furthermore, their operations in Africa greatly escalated, seeing a 40% boost, while overall revenue saw a 15.6% surge over the past year. The company strengthened its market leadership in India's mobile segment, augmenting its revenue significantly due to both customer base expansion and higher average revenue per user.
