Tragic Accident Claims Lives of MGNREGA Workers
Four MGNREGA workers were killed and two others injured near Kakinada when a dumper truck hit them on National Highway 216. The truck driver reportedly swerved to avoid drying paddy, causing the collision. Police have seized the vehicle but have yet to arrest the driver.

In a tragic incident on Saturday, four MGNREGA workers lost their lives while two others sustained injuries after a dumper truck struck them on National Highway 216. The fatal accident occurred near Kakinada, on the Kovvuru Bridge's outskirts.
The victims, all women, were reportedly walking on a narrow stretch when the truck, attempting to dodge paddy drying on the left side of the road, veered right and hit them. The workers were in the process of marking their attendance for the MGNREGA scheme when the accident happened.
The police have seized the vehicle and booked the driver for negligent driving, though he remains at large. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
