Hero MotoCorp's Major Investment Plans to Revamp Scooter Production
Hero MotoCorp plans a Rs 1,500 crore capex for FY27 to double its scooter production. The company is also investing over Rs 700 crore in a global parts center in South India. Despite geopolitical uncertainties, Hero aims for high growth, boosting both ICE and EV scooter capacities.
Hero MotoCorp, the leader in the two-wheeler market, has announced plans to allocate Rs 1,500 crore in capital expenditure for the financial year 2027. This strategic investment will be utilized to double the company's scooter production capacity, according to CEO Harshavardhan Chitale.
The company is also set to invest over Rs 700 crore in the establishment of a global parts center in the southern region of India. The expansion is aimed at strengthening Hero MotoCorp's parts and accessories business. Chitale elaborated on the company's ambition to double its current scooter production volumes.
Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions impacting the market, Hero MotoCorp remains focused on achieving high single-digit volume growth for FY27. The firm is enhancing both internal combustion engine and electric vehicle scooter capacities as part of this extensive growth strategy.
