A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus mounted a road divider near the Rajghat traffic signal after its brakes allegedly failed in central Delhi on Sunday, according to police reports on Monday.
The bus, which was traveling from Sarai Kale Khan to Rajghat, reportedly experienced a technical malfunction in its braking system. Videos shared on social media depict the bus straddling the divider at the busy intersection.
Thankfully, the bus was empty except for the driver and conductor when the brakes failed. To avoid a potential accident, the driver maneuvered the bus onto the divider, successfully stopping it. Although the incident caused temporary traffic disruption, no injuries or vehicle damages were reported. An investigation is ongoing to ascertain the precise cause of the brake failure. A DTC official stated that a report has been requested from the depot manager regarding the issue.
