In a strategic move to boost its production capacity, Royal Enfield announced plans to set up a new manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh, investing a hefty Rs 2,500 crore. This decision reflects the company's commitment to expanding its footprint beyond its home state of Tamil Nadu.
According to Royal Enfield, the new facility, located in the Tada industrial hub of the Tirupati district, is part of a phased implementation strategy subject to board approval. This comes as the company nears full utilization of its current annual production capacity of 14.6 lakh units.
Royal Enfield's expansion aligns with a prior Rs 958-crore investment aimed at increasing capacity in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, setting a future target of 20 lakh units. The move to Andhra Pradesh is expected to add significant capacity and drive the next growth phase, while the company continues to evaluate global opportunities.
