A passenger train narrowly avoided a major accident when it collided with a tractor-trolley between Sokana and Mendu railway crossing on Monday evening, officials reported.
The collision injured a passenger named Pushpendra, who was standing near the rear coach gate and has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
The train was halted at Mendu station for 22 minutes as officials, including the Railway Protection Force, investigated how the tractor-trolley came onto the tracks. The tractor driver reportedly fled the scene.
